I love my rescued Aussie. She is smart and loyal, and loves spending time with me.

The cleverest dog I've ever met, my Aussie is, and one who not only tries to find helpful things to do without being told, but actually succeeds a remarkable amount of the time. Vastly affectionate.

Energetic, though. _Really_ energetic. But it's worth it to keep up with him.

We were "gifted" an Aussie after a family at our school won him at the school auction. We live on a farm with many animals and he has adapted well and is a great family pet.
Cons: Needs proven confinement--fence not enough, electric fence with fence helped.
Is SOOO smart...pleasing you is not necessarily high on his list.

Sheila. Good girl. My brown shadow. Eager to please. Smart. Found on freeway; adopted her, as I knew nobody else would.
Cons: No real cons; she just is scared of thunder, and motorcycles, and the furnace.

Very smart, easy to train. Very perceptive. Ours is mixed with English springer spaniel (we think). Also relatively common at shelters since many people can't handle the high maintenance.
Cons: If you don't play with it and teach it things it will destroy your stuff. My children have lost quite a few clone troopers to a bored dog (entirely my fault). Big yard or area to run in is best.
