"Best alliance in hip-hop." As solo artists, both Mos Def and Talib Kweli are charismatic, clever, and insanely talented. Put them together as Black Star, and they're lightning in a bottle. Their combined insights, lyrical flow, tight beats, and thoughtful analysis of social issues have made them a powerhouse that few artists can hold a candle to.

Cons: Sadly only one full album to date. Rumors swirl about another in the works.
