Great writing on a wide range of subjects, with genuine experts laying out issues as best they can.
Cons: A little partisan for my liking at times. Not every problem in the World can be solved with just throwing free trade and a bunch of economy class theories at it

Sober, balanced economic and political reporting. Inexpensive cover price compared to other magazines. Loads of reading. Capable of not taking itself too seriously (cf the Big Mac Index).
Cons: Way too many depressing cover pictures of starving Africans and not enough pictures of a grinning Steve Jobs. C'mon people.

Packs more insight per sentence than most other pubs. Good for short attention spans.
Cons: Gets a little old constantly reading, "As the Economist went to press..."
