I like that they have fun personalities as kittens. Then I like how they are so independent as adults.
Cons: They can seem very standoffish and haughty. They are extremely expensive to care for medically, and are so endearing that it can be like killing your best friend when you have to put them to sleep.

Awesome. Just awesome. Kitties have very diverse personalities, yet they don't require a lot of attention.
Cons: They can do some damage, especially when they are hungry or left alone.

I'm just trying to figure out this 1st line: "To have a cat as a pet... reduces our complexity"!! haha! I like to think of my cats as living, breathing Muppets. Who doesn't want to live with Muppets?
Cons: If you're a particularly sensitive person, it may be painful to realize that the love affair is fairly one-sided.

You must earn their affection, but when you do it's very rewarding. Self-sufficient. They love to chill on your lap. Purring is awesome. Personalities vary widely from aloof to super affectionate.
Cons: You must earn their affection, but when you do it's very rewarding. Can be destructive to furniture. Cleaning litterbox is gross. Personalities vary widely from aloof to super affectionate.

Every cat has its own personality though they usually act like royalty. They're wonderful when they sit with you and purr!
Cons: Litterbox, shedding fur, scratched arms, and shredded furniture!

Independent as easy going. They do not require much work or training. If you are away for a day or two, you cat would be just fine. They are smart and funny as well.
Cons: Oftentimes, they are not inclined to traveling or baths. They may scratch furniture or exposed flesh.

Cats are awesome. They're generally quiet, even though they can get into a lot of trouble. And they aren't huge or super sneaky like some other animals. Most of their antics are generally cute.
Cons: Apparently, they also scratch up your car.

Affectionate, yet not needy. Self-sufficient.
Cons: Can be haughty, although usually with cause. Sometimes they steal food if you're too lazy to put it away. But maybe that's a "pro."

Cats are awesome
Cons: Not many, unless it is a bad cat that scratches up your furniture, poops all over, meows all the time, and scratches your eyeballs out.

They don't smell as bad as a wet dog. They don't take as much work to look after either.
Cons: They don't give unconditional loyalty and obediance as easily as dogs do.
