Just in time for the holidays, here is a series of holiday cards written in code. Some feature the CSS on the outside, and final rendering on the inside. Another is a series of egg nog recipes in 4 different languages.

Really amazing video of what happens if you feed Google's Search By Image back into itself. Ends up generating a constantly-morphing stream of images.

Recommended to closet egalitarians.

Plus I like to believe a more egalitarian world would be more aesthetically pleasing.

Richard Feynman made this t-shirt, famous when Apple used a photo of him wearing it for their 'Think Different' Campaign.

It became the inspiration for the actual physical form of the Connection Machine, the first commercial (massively parallel) supercomputer designed expressly to work on simulating intelligence and life.

Btw the CM-1 also inspired the form of the NeXTmachine.

Working on your laptop at night can hurt your eyes and affect your sleep. F.lux is a nifty app that auto adjusts the color temperature of your Macbook screen to an orangey hue at night to save your eyes.

Super handy app that lets you design a greeting card, include an instagram photo, and send the card snail mail for about the price of a coffee. #efficiency!

A bitters-focused cocktail bar manned by Cienfuegos' own beverage director. Among the unusual bitters you'll find here are Dandelion & Burdock, Hopped Grapefruit, and Mole. Prepare for strong concoctions and a bitters education.

Interesting article about a visit with Murakami in Tokyo in recent NYT Magazine www.nytimes.com/2011/10/23/magazine/the-fierce-imaginatio.... I had not heard the buzz about his forthcoming magnum opus "1Q84."

Planetariums may not have crossed your mind since elementary school, but they should. At the Hayden Planetarium you can catch a show about the origins of the universe, or one of their night shows about fractals. It's magical!

a restaurant hand-built by taavo somer, new york's most imitated tastemaker. the originator of the colonial inn hipster design cliche, fraught with moose heads and taxidermy. also, incidentally, home to a delicious and well-conceived menu and cocktail program.

band of outsiders epitomizes old hollywood glam. the label was started by a former agent. which explains the irrationally high price point. however, their aesthetic is second to none. it's LANVIN meets HOLLYWOOD.

i want everything in this fall 2011 lookbook.
