Dune is good science fiction because Herbert uses space merely as a setting for a most excellent political novel. You'll lear about humans in this book, and not just get a laser sabre shoved down your throat!

Excellent analysis of the issues with artificially regulated economies. Now more than ever an essential read.

Wes Anderson goes for the subtle joke, not the evident one, and he does it so well! If you like this, you'll love this movie. If not, chances are that you'll find it boring, but it's worth taking the risk!

House is THE true scientist. He finds the theory that fits best the data, and is ready to change his mind in a split second when new info gets available. Many people could learn from that!

A hundred pages into Atlas Shrugged, it was clear to me that it was the best book I had ever read, and with a difference. The writing is as powerful as the ideas, although I can't say I share them all.

The only thing you can say about Tokyo, is that you can't define Tokyo. Whatever you like, you will find it there. Whether you want crowd or tranquility, teenage discos or jazz clubs, thrift stores or Hermès... everything's there.

The museum is very interesting... but the store next door is also a museum of XXth century design.... and the buildings themselves are works of art. A must-see place if you visit Germany (or Switzerland).

The one person who dares to ask some fundamental questions about our societies, and who responds to them scientifically. All of his books are mind-opening.

He is the author who can teach you about the american history of the XXth century by talking about hair dye. What can you say about that??

Very few words are uttered, and yet everything that needs to be said, is said. A master in his art.

A wonderful romance - and I wouldn't say that for any other Hollywood movie. A truly beautiful film, precisely because it is so surrealistic.

When I was a kid I built Lego Technics trucks. Just as I was figuring that the company had gone haywire with Harry Potter and Star Wars stuff, I saw that I can now built Farnsworth House! Thats' the greatest usage of plastic ever.

Murakami starts with simple setups, in the middle-classes of japan. Then, as his stories turn imperceptibly weirder, he starts, also imperciptibly, to dig into our brains, leaving human souls bare for you to examine. He is a master.

Edward Hopper is to painting what Raymond Carver is to short stories: he provides snapshots, without comment or judgment, and yet manages to leave you the most vivid images of the american life.
