There have been a few changes recently on Hunch which seem to be a result of your policy change emphasizing the suggestion aspect over the community aspect. Examples are the "people like you" tabs, hunches on questions and results, contributor lists are gone etc.
You probably thought this all out and have good reasons for the changes. But in my opinion that was what made Hunch not only interesting and practical, but also more user-friendly in a social sense. It is often cited that the advantage of Hunch is its sophisticated algorithm whereas its disadvantage is its lack of user base.
Why did you reduce the community factor of Hunch? Was it too confusing for new users?

Hunch is becoming more and more like WIkipedia, in the sense that the average user
doesn't need to be distracted by the fact that its content is user-generated (and by whom).
Of course I hope (actually I'm convinved) that the Hunch team is working on mind-blowingand never before seen community building features based on the taste graph.

@catastrophe - ictus is correct in saying that we are currently in a phase focused on end-users who come to Hunch in order to get recommendations and partners who with to leverage Hunch's technology. These two things are what drove our new homepage design and the new navbar up top. Most users who come to hunch.com will never contribute to the site, and that is totally ok and to be expected.
Now, for those who are coming to contribute to the site, be social with other users, etc... we are trying to steer them more and more to the Dashboard (hunch.com/contributors/). Similarly, the More menu itself sections off tools for contributors. Remember that while we currently are focused on users seeking recommendations, the time will come when our focus shifts once more. At that time, we will be able to commit resources to building out all the great ideas for hunch.com we toss around.

Btw you could draw a lot of parallels between e.g. the revolution in Egypt and the redesign of Hunch :)
It also made me think of the famous words by Neurath:
"We are like sailors who on the open sea must reconstruct their ship but are never able to start afresh from the bottom. Where a beam is taken away a new one must at once be put there, and for this the rest of the ship is used as support.
