Yes, Russian rocks. Intellectually stimulating and challenging, and fun to use once you start to get it down.
The grammar and word formation can be complicated and difficult for English speakers to understand. Have to be willing to flat-out memorize lots of stuff. Word length tends to be quite long.

More challenging than some other languages, a lot of fun involved. Beautiful sounds.
Grammar can be a pain, as well as the 'learning a new alphabet' part

You can understand Russian culture and read Russian history
Can be difficult to speak if you know another different language like Spanish or French because of accents

Knowing the Cyrillic helps when traveling in Greece - a more common tour destination.
Great Hunch though - I already know Russian!6 cases applicable to verbs, nouns, and adjectives is killer to keep straight!
Some 'soft' sounds are difficult to pronounce for some - pegging one as a tourist for the mugging -

Finally you would be able to watch Dom-2 without translation.
Being native speaker I'd say it is one of the most complicated language. Yes, it is easy to start but after few months it would be really painful.

interesting. i would like to learn it. i would like to learn every language in the world if I could.
I am learning Spanish and that is 2 hard. This would be harder. If I could speak it, its not like I could talk to anyone in Russian. I also don't plan on going to Russia. it would be a waste of time.

One of the major European languages and is somewhat in demand today. Great history, literature, and culture.
Cases and plural can be difficult, verbs are more so (esp motion verbs)
