I recommend watching this if you are at all drawn to Viking culture/era. It's a pretty fun watch if you're into cultural studies, raids, or punk/Viking styles. Issues of gender and religion come up, as do war and honor. It's an exciting show to watch.

It's addicting and hilarious. As Lena Dunham's character said in the first episode, it's not the voice of our generation, but "a voice". I like that the main character is also the creator of the show, and also a recent college grad two years out of college. I like seeing the character struggle with being an artist/intellectual in the real world and knowing the actor was successful.

Although I've only read the English translation, he's a brilliant thinker. I like the way he defines goodness.
