Darkly funny, quite scary, and very moving in its final act. Takes a concept and squeezes the possibilities dry into a wonderful movie.
Cons: It's hard to go fluidly from segment to segment.

Cons: Almost impossible to comprehend, you have to rely on your feelings to get through it.

A great performance from Sissy Spacek, wonderful direction, brilliant editing, and a great story.
Cons: It takes a long time for the horror to kick in, but when it does it's worth it.

Atmospheric with great '80s flare, amazing pace, wonderful direction, and quite a few shocks that are genuinely terrifying.
Cons: The explanation doesn't really satisfy anything, really, you pretty much know what's going on from the get go, but the ending more than makes up for it.

The original teen slasher. Darkly comical, great characters, chilling atmosphere, and a simple but effective story.
Cons: The pacing can get tiresome, but once we get started, it's a ride that doesn't let go.
Comment: This review is about the original... but the star rating the for the remake? Um, okay Hunch, whatever.

Takes the original to a new place, feels completely different. Great story, likable characters, is realistic in its approach.

One of the best independent horror films. Gritty, brutal, and downright terrifying. Succeeds on every level.

Witty, self-reflective, and most importantly unbelievably scary. The defining horror movie of the '90s. The opening scene is unforgettable.
Cons: It's hard for this movie to decide what it wants to be, and a few moments end up awkward because of it.

Dark, gory, funny, inventive, and characters that you care about. A remake that works.
Cons: Um... that girl chasing the dog was stupid?

The original terror itself, Psycho is as potent today as it ever was. Great atmosphere, brilliant direction, and one of the best horror performances from Janet Leigh. The tension during the body disposal after the shower scene is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Cons: It's a bit cheesy, and the ending makes me giggle. But hey, it's still wonderful.

Subtle and plays to the little things that are likely to scare you when you're alone. Sets up a nice mythology too, which goes largely unnoticed.
Cons: Doesn't really pay off in the end. It stays consistently good, but never great. Despite trying their best, the leads are terrible actors and can't even play themselves convincingly.

Atmospheric, great performances, brilliant story, and downright one of the best films ever made.
Cons: I've never understood what anyone found scary about this movie. Maybe the scene with the night vision goggles, but I hardly think that qualifies it as a horror movie.

A nice revival in the Saw franchise. Scary traps and a great message to convey, surprisingly.
Cons: As with all the sequels, the story is being lost in the gore.
