One of the greatest naturalists and documentary makers of all time. His gentle, intelligent manner is irresistible and endlessly inspiring to millions of viewers around the world. I could listen to him, and watch the incredible nature films he presents, every day and still get that feeling of wide-eyed amazement and wonder at how extraordinary it is to be alive on earth.

Jacques Tati's 1958 comedy. Slightly surreal, hardly a word spoken, a gentle dig at the fashionable French modernism of the period.

A captivating collection of letters, postcards and memos. Some moving, others hilarious. Mark Twain's angry letter to a snake oil salesman is particularly great.

Be careful. You don't think you could spend hours looking at letterheads now, but yourself from a few hours time would beg to differ.

This is a great movie for anyone who hasn't seen a Hitchcock film before. Its missing some of the menace of some of his other films. The action is very theatrical and confined in geography, but the film rarely has a dull moment. See this classic.

A great, casual way to check out shallow coral reefs and underwater sight-seeing.

One of the 3 members of the Lychee group (in my mind) Lychees are red and bumpy, Longans (long yan=dragons eye) tan and bumpy, and Rambutans(from the chinese Hong Mao Dan meaning red hair egg) are red with a hairlike surface. Lychees probably taste the best but are fairly uncommon next to Rambutans which are the most widespread. A beautiful sweet fruit especially off the tree!!

‘Clean, green’ Tasmania has a serious problem with contaminated water. A third of the state's town water systems are affected by lead, arsenic or sewage contamination and don’t meet national drinking water standards. Investigative journalist at ABC Radio National, Ian Townsend, reports.

Amazing story about the power of survival... a giant stick bug thought to be extinct for over 80 years found on this rock in the middle of nowhere.

Delicate, refreshing and evocative - a simple Japanese sweet that resembles a hydrangea flower.

Parasites made me recommend it.
Btw as usual on the internet, the article is better than the title.

A couple of the best scenes from "Basquiat," Julian Schnabal's biopic on an artist so influential, people don't even realize he's had influence on what they like. Enjoy the film for its wry observations on fame, David Bowie as Andy Warhol, and bit parts played by everyone from Dennis Hopper to Vincent Gallo (who was in the band Grey with the real Basquiat back in the day).
