Several Residents' songs set to their own unique brand of music video. The songs featured are Moisture, The Act of Being Polite, Perfect Love, and The Simple Song (which is my favorite of the four).

Strange, bizarre, off kilter... You need to be kind of nutty to like the Residents. But love them, hate them, or indifferent to them, you have to admit that there is no other band quite like them.

their outfits are amazing. i've only listened to their Advertisements album but it was definitely unique and really good too.

A story about two abandoned kids and how they turn out in a bizarre imagining of Tokyo's back streets. Disclaimer: the author has no relation to Haruki Murakami, another great author.

I love this music video, and the song has a knack for getting stuck in one's head...

A very old school tile based game filled with increasingly difficult puzzles. The soundtrack consists of two very campy thirty second songs, and it's quite addictive.

Strange and surreal; it's hard to figure out what's going on for sure in this movie. I also like the fact that all the lines are dubbed, despite the fact that everyone is clearly speaking English already.

A movie that alternates between playful and mournful, it captures the surrealism of the aftermath of some sort of apocalypse.

Delightfully campy and ahead of its time.

This is one of my all time favorites. Surreal and absurdly comical.

This is great. The first scenes remind me a bit of www.youtube.com/watch?v=luIci5Lr4Ek

Not a very optimistic book. With a rather nihilistic tone, it's pure postmodernism.

A band from Iceland with a haunting, ambient sound. It's good music to listen to while watching the rain.

This is basically two novels in one book, but one could not exist without the other. There's not much to be said without spoiling it, so I'll just say that this is a really good book.

This is one of my favorites from Murakami. He did a small reading from it in Boston while he was a visiting scholar.

Did you get to see that? I also heard that there was a theater adaptation of the wind up bird chronicle, although it's supposed to be touring in Europe right now.

One of the first great movies. This Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali collaboration is unique and unforgettable.
