This car (with the manual) is surprisingly a great little drive. Yes, there's not much horsepower, but it weighs even less than the Fiat 500, so doesn't need much. Besides, the shifter is so good and the engine so happy sounding when revved that you'd be looking for excuses to downshift anyway. A tall ceiling and low beltline up front also make it feel roomy for the driver and front passenger.

The ability to highlight and annotate webpages and share these with other users puts Diigo a notch above other social bookmarking services. Diigo is a "must have" browser tool for university students, teachers, and researchers.

It's so refreshing to see a program covering politics and current events that goes beyond 2-minute segments featuring party surrogates yelling canned talking points at one another. GPS also explores international perspectives on events at a level that's unusual for U.S. cable news shows. If you watch Meet the Press but not GPS, you're missing out. I learn something every week.

The new multitouch gestures in OS X Lion make switching from a mouse to the Magic Trackpad worthwhile.

The shared editing and discussion features that are now baked into Google Docs are amazing and super useful for people who work collaboratively at a distance and for students working on group projects.

CrashPlan is a great service. I've been backing up multiple Macs and PCs using their remote backup service for a couple of years now after switching from Mozy, and it's worked flawlessly and unobtrusively. It's nice to have insurance against disaster, and it's extra nice to have that insurance without me having to remember to do anything.

If you regularly use multiple social media services or manage multiple Twitter accounts or Facebook pages, this is a great little app to have in your toolkit.

An excellent "does it all" headset. Almost any $25 headset will work just fine for Skype calls, but these are a worthwhile upgrade if you need a higher quality mic for recording podcasts, screencast voiceovers, etc., and also want a nice pair of headphones for listening to music.

Being able to access all your files from anywhere on virtually any device is great, and the file sharing features make it even more useful -- no more hassles trying to send large files by email. I don't think I've burned a CD or copied a file to a USB thumb drive since I signed up. As a bonus, it helps make sure important work isn't lost if your hard drive crashes or your laptop goes missing.

RIP. Nobody did a better job combining music and social networking. Hopefully iTunes will put your ideas back in play eventually.

Premium service is a great value if you typically bought at least one album's worth of new music each month. Sound quality is noticeably better than Amazon MP3s and iTunes. Only complaints: no way to sync music I don't already own to iPod Classic (my car jukebox), and bug that makes Spotify list every song actually on my computer 10-50 times in my library, which makes scrolling hopelessly tedious.

Speedier than similarly priced Atom mini notebooks, nice keyboard, good battery life.
