This little book was my introduction to philosophy. It had a very powerful effect on me as a college student. He was a bit more extreme than I will ever be, but the underlying theme of controlling yourself and not getting bent out of shape when bad things happen, and of valuing people for their minds and character are very applicable in today's shallow, materialistic world.

This online periodical often has news from the counterterrorism hotspots earlier than anyone else, and it is quite often correct (unlike what you see in the mass media).

I have had Ecco shoes for ten years of near daily use - they're very comfortable and just won't die.

Excellent service, and pretty reasonable prices. If you have to go to Manila, this hotel is a good bet, though it is in a slightly seedy neighborhood (sort of a fading red-light district).

NGA's new HQ is exactly the kind of building a spy agency should have. Very cool, and green, too.

Great fit, loads of pockets, and really cheap. They dry quickly too. You're going to tear up your clothes in the field anyway. Why tear up expensive ones? Only drawback is the D-rings on the waist adjuster are weak plastic.

Needed an economical "starter car" with two new drivers in the family. Compared to other subcompacts, it felt more solid, less tinny, and has performed superbly (bearing in mind that it is a subcompact, not a race car).

You can absolutely rely on it to fire every time you squeeze the trigger. Impervious to field conditions. Best thing ever to come from Austria, including Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Cons: Blocky, harder to conceal than some (but I still love it).
