But those poor booky-books!!! Waaaah!

This site is amazing. It's all I use to study for memorization portions of tests. It's a lot easier and more environmentally friendly than physical flashcards. It's completely free, though you can pay a subscription fee to include pictures in your flashcards.
Filled with amazing titbits and trinkets, and so many cool options, like shopping locally and selecting items by colour! Everything you could possibly want from handmade crafts and vintage goods can probably be found somewhere on here!
Cons: You actually have to pay for the items in order to own them.
Gas and electricity off? Seriously? You want to re-set all of your electronics when you get home? You want to freeze your pipes while you're away? Odds are that you have a modern thermostat. Use it. If you're so concerned about energy usage, walk through your home before you leave. It's easier and cheaper than this hair-brained scheme.
This is up there with the single-line Vermeer drawing (hunch.com/item/hn_3907604/single-line-drawing-faber-caste...) in terms of dedication and a breathtakingly accurate end product.
