Good question... I just found this on its own on some stupid blog. Time to put our Googling fingers on!

On November 16th, Congress holds hearings on the first American Internet censorship system. If it pass, the US will be able to block a site’s web traffic, ad traffic and search traffic using the same website censorship methods used by China, Iran and Syria. A few infringing links will be then enough to justify censoring an entire site, resulting blocking good content along with the bad.

A graphic design artist took the photos of several real women along with some digital manipulation to recreate Disney's princesses. See if you can find your childhood favorite!

Voxatron is a cool little game, entirely destructible and made up of a lot of voxels (little boxes). It is quite the simple concept, but might be a tough task.

A sweet scrollwheel-controlled little game. Nice concept, but I only managed it in 6 minutes 10 seconds.

This game displays Google search results and challenges the player to guess the original search term. Very original and actually teaches you about Google's more advanced features.

So good! Teach people power features with a game.

Actually, this gets hard pretty quick. I don’t see “normals” making it very far with this :)

georges

georges commented 6 months, 3 weeks ago

Stuck at the NASDAQ one. Does that make me a “normal”?

peter

peter commented 6 months, 3 weeks ago

Maybe it just gets too hard regardless, unless you’re the obsessive-must-finish-a-game type of person.

TheLugal

The "+" and "-" (pluss and minus) operators isn't used anymore, if I recall correctly.

peter

peter commented 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Minus still works, e.g., "mac -apple", but plus doesn’t. I think quotes were supposed to sort of replace the plus sign functionality.

Regardless, this “game” *is* pretty old, which gets more obvious the more questions you solve :)

Are you a techie with a passion for fiction? Or a writer that loves computers, or more accurate, programming? Either way, I think you'll like inform, as it lets you "program" a piece of interactive fiction. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interactive_fiction)

It is completely free, and is for Linux, OS X and windows.

This fantastic piece of music is awesome! It is a beautiful song, well performed by the player. As you probably can see from the picture, she does (at least) 4 voices. (Video edited, but that adds to the awesome.)

If you are into old video games, this one is for you.

GOG.com has a good collection of old games. Prices is usually $5.99 or 9.99, but once in a while you find cheaper "promo"-games or even a couple of free ones.

In a word: Awesome!
