My 1 year-old dog, Bailey, is a goldendoodle. She is a great dog. Although all dogs are individuals with their own personalities, in general, I would recommend this breed if you want a pet who wants to be a part of everything the family does. Bailey is an active, loving dog who has a gentle, sweet nature. I highly recommend the goldendoodle.

A classic American Bildungsroman---one of the few books that I did not put down until I finished reading it. Here's to you, Holden, you old phony.

---An electric, Southern, television drama. It's kind of like the Coen brothers' version of really bizarre Mayberry characters in conflict with the protagonist, Raylan Givens. My favorite character is the charismatic Boyd Crowder.

Tasty Cuban sandwiches are great with black beans and rice. Simple setting with fantastic food. I highly recommend a visit to Margon--just don't plan to sit in the restaurant.

Good Italian food in an inviting setting. I recommend dining alfresco at the rear of the restaurant.

A quaint little bookshop tucked away in the N.C. mountains. Definitely worth a visit.

Erik Larson's recounting of the run up to WWII from the perspective of U.S Ambassador William Dodd and his family. Like his other works such as Thunderstruck and The Devil in the White City, Larson's newest effort is fast paced, and highly engaging, historical non-fiction.

An unbelievable collection of books of all kinds, including early editions. It's a book lover's dream. Forget the Nook and forget the Kindle. Long live the "real" book!

Take a trip back in time to a real country store. This is the original Mast General Store in Valle Crucis. Great outdoor gear available at the Annex.
