Easily one of my favorite books. A great look at post civil war america, sisterhood, family, acceptance, and love. Unlike many other works of the time it isn't weighed down by exhausting language.

It took me a good 5 times to start the first book but then I was hooked. Don't let its twilight similarities scare you, this series is fabulous!
