I have been an embroiderer all my life and think it should be taught in school as previously it was--at least in the UK.

This is something I'd like to learn! Any tips on getting started?

Just get some material and some threads (Anchor or DMC) and either get a transfer and iron it on, or draw your picture on the material and away you go. There are lots of sites for freestyle embroidery and it is my preferred way of doing it as it makes it so personal and is like drawing a picture but with coloured threads.

p.s.If I lived in your State I would come and show you how to do this, but it is a long way (and expensive) to travel from here.! LOL
