Does it use real sugar or corn syrup?

This film can be enjoyed by a five-year old. This film can be enjoyed by a fifty-year old. The reasons both enjoy the film are disparate but equally valid. This film is a simple tale while also being a knowing and hilarious history of the western genre (with a Gilliamesque tint).

I know it's probably just in my head, but it is somehow better. The bottles are also quite lovely.

Great minimalist art and an endearing narrative that's not overly sentimental.

Saw the teaser trailer for the new film adaption (starring Gary Oldham and Colin Firth) coming out later this year and was inspired to reread what some consider Le Carre's masterpiece. The book is slow, plodding, methodical, and is all the better because of these traits. Once you enter the event horizon you're pulled down a rabbit hole into the drab ordinariness that drives humans to commit evil.

Picked this up while shopping. Sort of an afterthought. I liked the cover. I recalled a lot of favorable reviews. Opened it a couple nights ago and have spent the last couple days just barreling through the thing because it's exceptional. Honest, brutal, and hilarious; the Richards caricature crumbles. I didn't even care about the Rolling Stones, but now I'm listening to Exile on Main Street.

A great read for a general audience. A thorough analysis of the transformation of the idea of God from polytheism to monotheism and offers an understanding of how historical context alters what God is.

What I once believed was a potent and hilarious anti-war film is, upon a recent viewing, actually, and probably inadvertently, a powerful neo-conservative piece of propaganda. I don't know why, but that somehow made the film mean more to me, because it now challenged my own value system, and isn't that what art's supposed to do? Context changed the film's meaning.

A tremendous accounting of an American identity crisis at the end of the Clinton era. Marks a point of no-return economically and presents a notion of masculinity that will be subverted by 9/11.

Advocates for the inherent, unstable nature of reality/existence.

Pretentious and delicious comfort food. Pork belly and poached egg is a winner.
